This February I have challenged my violin and fiddle students to each compose and record an original tune. The students range in age from 5 years old to adults in their....well, let's just say "older, mature" adults! A variety of musical styles have been represented in their creations already - tunes with a classical violin sound; foot stomping reels and jigs; and tunes with eclectic, new age, and even rock grooves.

Group Members:

So far, the following students have started the recording process: Amelia, Morgan, Elissa, Chris, Emily, and Micah. I've seen some awesome sheet music from: Suzanne, Devin, Katie, Hannah, Amanda, Kathryn, and Muriel I know more students are furiously scrambling to put together their first composition and I'll be able to add more names to the list soon!

February 29th, 2008: Here's the final tally. I have completed and recorded tunes from: Amelia, Elissa, Chris, Suzanne, Morgan, Katie, Devin, Micah, Muriel, Emily, Hannah, Miranda, and Amanda. I was amazed by the creativity of the tunes and the arrangements. I can't wait to share them with you!

Band Bio:	Live Free and Fiddle is a compliation of original tunes from 13 of my fiddle students. The students range in age from 9-22 (and one adult student!). None of the students had ever written their own music before this project. All tunes were written, arranged, and performed by the students.
