Composer/guitarist/rapper Gene Pritsker has written over three hundred compositions, including chamber operas, orchestral and chamber works, electro-acoustic music, songs for hip-hop and rock ensembles, etc. All his compositions employ an eclectic spectrum of styles and are influenced by his studies of various musical cultures. He is the founder and leader of Sound Liberation; an eclectic band playing the New York club circuit. DI.J. Noizepunk is the electonic composer/performer in him. Gene devised a technique on his computer where he can, through various programs, play and manipulate various sounds, beats, samples etc. He calls what he does Di.J., a digital jockey, since everything is controlled and performed through the computer. In the project 'Transcend the Strange' I sample various strange sources and manipulate them to create groove oriented jams that have a contemporary music flavor to them
