| Band Bio: |
ROSE ASUNDER is a unique pairing of two musicians who have never met. Alisa Tantraphol and Stephen Dedalus were introduced by Alisa's sister, who worked with Stephen in a previous life and knew they shared a taste for electro-folk rock-a-sultry jazz-a-licious soul.
Alisa writes the lyrics and melodies, figures out the basic chord progressions, and sings. Stephen plays the instruments, arranges the parts, and does the mixing and mastering in his home studio. They collaborated on this album entirely over the internet.
Alisa is a classically trained flautist who realized it was impossible to sing and play the flute at the same time. She is working towards a day when she will be worthy of her Martin guitar; until then, she is pleased that her singing has improved more rapidly than her playing.
Stephen began his musical career, like most white kids, by taking piano lessons in the suburbs. He once owned a wicked old-school Roland synthesizer, but he sold it in a moment of financial weakness. He has been playing the guitar for some 18 years now and has been in a lot of bands -- at one point three simultaneously, but none of them was any
good. |
