Existential Gothic Blues -- The current members of the Blackwater Tribe are descendants of a Nakota Sioux tribe who fled to north of Regina, Saskatchuan, Canada on 12/30/1890 to escape the wasicu army that had massacred every man, woman, and child at the Lakotah encampment at Wounded Knee. The tribe broke camp in the dead of a Dakota winter day. A blizzard covered their tracks as they made their flight to the north. The tribe lived on the banks of a tanic river for years before Swedish railroad workers, that were building the Trans-Canada railway, discovered them. The Swedes referred to them as the tribe that lives on the black water.
