I'm a solo electronic artist from Essex. I've got three albums and an EP under my belt already, although a lot of that has been about finding my feet musically; the first two were variations on noise music, and the third was a mishmash of different tracks. The EP is actually the most coherent thing I've made, being primarily made up of jungle sounds.
Anyhow, I'm signing up to this for two reasons. One, because I love stupid ideas like this. I've done NaNoWriMo a few years running, although I've only actually hit 50,000 words once. I really love making music, and do it all the time anyhow, so I figure "Why not?". It's easier when you're a solo artist anyhow. My work ethic is pretty sloppy anyhow, so doing something like this could be really fun.
The second reason is pretty much based on my massive beef with the RIAA and the mainstream music industry in general. It is people who release on sites like this who are going to rise from the rubble of the music industry as we know it. But yeah, that's all empty rhetoric. Please excuse me.
What actually comes out of this competition is likely to be fairly random. Recently I've been making some nice shoegazey stuff, but I might well end up making something nice and dubby, just because I do love the dubstep.
