| Album Description: |
Given our various time constraints, we decided to record our live gig on February 4. The vast majority of the evening was freely improvised, with rarely even a tonal center or rhythm discussed. Naturally, Pro Tools failed us, but we were prepared with a back up. Naturally, the back up failed us, but we were prepared with a back up to the back up... which naturally failed... but, we had, you guessed it, a back up to the back up to the back up... and... you guessed it, it failed. In the end, tracks 1, 3 and 4 were recorded using the onboard condenser mic of a Korg PXR-4. Track two was recorded with Mike's ipod. 8 minutes of track one were captured by Pro Tools, which sucks. And Derek's iRiver left us completely hanging. The moral: Hire a damned engineer and just play your music. |

| Band Bio: |
Equal Time was formed out of the 2006 RPM Challenge. Bassist Tim Webb and saxophonist Thom Keith heard each other's discs at The Red Door during the listening party. Tim contacted Thom a short time later. They were later joined by the incomparable Mike Walsh on drums, and have since added Boston's Derek Kwong on trombone. The band plays obscure Jazz covers and a multitude of originals and free-improvised music. |
