jin men ju has two sides: side #1 is more of a sound art/phonography side. I utilize any recording device I can get my hands on to catch sounds that I can use in compositions and improvisations using the same tools that I used to record the sounds. side #2 is the modern composition side where my pieces are generally written for more traditional instrumentation mixed with toy instruments and electronics. with both i use lots of repetition and simplicity.
i like to use a lot of found sounds and/or field recordings to compose little soundscapes.
