About

Description: I'm in Iraq, so my resources are limited, but I've got a keyboard and GarageBand and a USB mic. I also badgered a couple of people into playing guitar and violin on a couple of tracks.

As for what kind of music it is -- it's a completely mixed bag, folk and rock and jazz and hip-hop and whatever else appealed to me. The lyrics are small vignettes of life on a military installation in Iraq.
Group Members: Just me, mostly. Violin by Josh Maxwell, guitar by Luke Giannini, as noted below. Would have liked to use them more, but time was short.

Album Name: Music for Forward Operating Bases
Album Description: A collage of rock, folk, and hip-hop songs, with classical elements. An album about war. An experiment by a neophyte musician. A godawful mess. Something for everyone. Something to offend everyone.
Tracks (w/numbers): 1. We Start With Some Nice Organ Music
2. Folk Song For The End Of Time
3. Going To Heaven (A Pacifist In Iraq)

Band Bio: Been making music for almost two years now -- something I didn't know I could do until GarageBand came with my new computer. Now it's the thing I love doing. The computer came with me to Iraq, and I ordered a cheap keyboard and a USB mic online to do this project. This is the first time I've recorded tracks with vocals.

Joshua Maxwell -- rustic violin on "Folk Song For The End Of Time"
Luke Giannini -- guitar on "Cancer"
Birds -- birdsong on "Folk Song For The End Of Time"
