The Tambourine Club

About

Description:
There will be a collection of songs written / recorded during this month of February 2007. It will be 'lo-fi' meets 'hi-fi'. All the songs will be written/recorded by the infamous Bryan Lamanno who is cuRentLy the only perm. member of this club. Also, all instruments / sounds will be performed / created by him. There will be no 'real' drums. because there is no drummers to be found at this time. As far as what type of 'sounds' will be heard, or 'style of songs' will be heard is hard to say. But, from what others have said about the club, it could be compared to this 'analogy.' "The Sleepy Jackson, Oasis, Badly Drawn Boy, and the Velvet Underground all holding hands / dancing in a circle together/making music together." got that?

2007 RPM Album Info

Date mailed or hand-delivered: 02/28/2007
Date received: 03/01/2007
Genre: Alternative
Album Name: rpm 07
Album Description: Album is a very mixed state of song demos. We'll say demos to account for the amount of time they were recorded in and quality of sound. A couple songs are probably going to make it onto the first official Tambourine Club release hopefully to be out in 2007. It will probably be in 'maxi-single' style with album to follow. ..Back to the RPM Challenge album. The Album contains two 'number one hits', 'kansas city' & 'on the radio.' Most definitely. They are modern day pop rock anthems! It is the Velvet Underground, meets Oasis, meets the Sleepy Jackson. There are also some more intimate stripped down recordings such as 'yesterday' and 'I had a dream'. Including 'Kansas City' (my hometown), there is also another song relating to somewhere I used to dwell for a couple of years, 'Nashville'. The song is a relation to working 12 hour shifts in the middle of the night at a recording studio, for very little money. Hence, working for the 'love of a song'. Also, the last song, 'the end', is a good look into what a song 'idea' of mine may sound like that is put down to be recorded later. 'The end' is just an idea for a song, and if you listen, what is being sang is basically just 'mumble', not actual words or sense, but these 'mumblings' and so forth are what is later transformed into songs. The 'mumblings' and acoustic are what put down so I an remember the melody gong through my head at the time and I do not lose the song idea. I wanted to put this on because many people who are not musicians, or some that are, wonder how a song starts out or how the idea comes about, and I wanted to show how the very beginning of an idea for a song of mine starts out. Ok, this all said, you need to hear the collection for yourself to see what you think. Take care, and we hope to hear from you.
Always, Bryan.
