Band C

About

Description:

Band C is usually the same 2 or 3 musicians, sometimes others, has been playing since 2001 or 1999, depending on who is counting; almost entirely original material, wide range of influences. --Last year's RPM was good so we'll try it again. The '07 project tried to produce music about glass, industry & shoes, but it turned out to be about other things so this year I'd like to aim for the idea of glass, industry & shoes, but as of 1/23/08 we haven't been able to have a band meeting to discuss this. Greg claims he will write a song about a bridge.

Feb. 4 update: Well, forget the glass, etc., even ideas of. It's going to be called Band C's Big Ideas. Two songs recorded already.

Group Members: David Oettinger- guitar, vocals, percussion Greg LaGana- keyboards Marie Oettinger- Vocals

Date Received: 03/03/2008
Genre: Alternative
Album Name: Band C's big ideas
Album Description: This is the best stuff we've done since last year. We continue to explore. _This was originally going to be about glass & industry & etc. --not happening. It's now perhaps based on a vision Greg had of some old bums sitting in the industrial wasteland talking up what might have been; it's kind of like the novel; it's kind of like this:
“Be very, very careful about what you put into that head because you will never, ever get it out.”
--Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471 – 1530 )
Tracks (w/numbers): 1. Absinthe fountain
2. India

Band Bio: David Oettinger & Greg LaGana formed the band around 1999. We & Carol had performed in an earlier group, The Rhinecliff River Band, long ago. Greg currently plays in a blues band, The BassBoards. David spends a lot of time writing & composing & recording. Carol & Marie, less time. Others join the project from time to time. We live for the music.
Group Members & Instruments Played: VOCALS: D. Oettinger, Carol Bridgeforth, Marie Oettinger
KEYBOARDS: Greg LaGana
GUITAR D. Oettinger
PERCUSSION: D. Oettinger & Carol Bridgeforth
Instruments & etc used on this CD: Keyboard: Nord Electro with Alesis Microverb. Guitars: Les Paul Studio, highly modified Lotus Telecaster, early ‘60s Epiphone acoustic signals processed through Pod 2.0, BBE 882i & various boxes into 2 old tube amps, an Airline combo & an ODH head, each driving a cabinet built for the amp. Percussion: Various drums, bells, shakers, metal & wood objects & lots of Alesis. Some sounds come directly from Finale PrintMusic’s sound module. Recorded on a Korg 12 track using SM58, Cascade ribbon, MXL & AKG mics run through Art & AEA pre amps & an Aphex 204. Mixed down to 2 tracks & eq’d on GoldWave. Mastering? HA! Not this time. With a little more time I'd like to attempt a better mix & eq & try to get a cleaner product,,, this whole CD happened in around 20 days......
Band Location (city, state or province, & country): Ossining, NY also New Jersey & Maryland
