| Band Bio: |
Sean Longstreet graduated from the University of Redlands in June, 2006 with a degree in Music Education. In January 2007 he finished his teaching credentials, and now is teaching beginning band at the six elementary schools in Beaumont. He continues to teach private lessons, write, arrange, record, and perform. ______________________________________________________________________________ He spent two years at Riverside Community College where he was selected to play for the President's Honor Recital both in 2003 and 2004. He was the marching mandolin player for Disney's "The Princess Diaries II," and in 2006 opened for the band Chicago, at the Honda Center. He has also played guitar for Pamona College's production of "Hair," in 2002 and performed with the Buddha's Light Symphony Youth Orchestra for his Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1998. He was the feature player for the RCC night band’s “Tribute to Pat Metheny” concert in 2006. He has written and arranged pieces for jazz bands, jazz combos, and guitar ensembles and recently had three arrangements performed by the Etiwanda High School Jazz Ensemble at the 2007 Montreaux Jazz Festival. He also enjoys playing other instruments like the trombone, bass, flute, various other brass instruments, the bodhran, djembe, mandolin and sitar. Most recently his song, “Angelo’s Blues,” was nominated for two Inland Empire Music Awards; best blues and best instrumental. ______________________________________________________________________________ He has shared the stage with Kim Richmond, Bill Reichenbach, Tye Zamora (formerly with Alien Ant Farm), Bob McChesney, George Probert, Jeff Elwood, Katherine Prouse, Rob Lockhart, Charlie Richard, Brandon Fields, Steve Tavaglione, Ken Lesight, Tom Catanzaro, Kevin Kanner, Miles Mosely, and Ron Stout among others. ______________________________________________________________________________ In his most recent project he wrote, performed and recorded original music for the Redlands Regional Players' production of "Love's Labor's Found," a compilation of various Shakespeare works relating to love for which he was the narrator and "minstrel." One reviewer said, "This narration was accompanied by original music of a sort that in a remarkably subtle way bridged the gap between tonal and ballad styles of the eras of Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II." Soundtrack CD's are available anytime, and can be listened to and downloaded at http://www.virb.com/seanlongstreet. His current project as musical director for the Redlands Regional Players is to compose music for an adaptation of Hamlet. More here: http://www.myspace.com/redlandsregionalplayers |
