This years album is a themed album based on some photos that I took at the Johnson Space Center last summer. Space themed titles? Yes. 60's sci-fi themed sound? Nope.
It should be a pretty straight forward electronica album with a nice mix of break-beat, lo-fi, ambient, IDM, glitch, and a few surprises thrown in.
My weapon of choice is my MacBook Pro loaded with Logic Studio, a few NI synths and Battery, G-Force's Minimonsta and impOSCar, and some fantastic gear by M-Audio.
Let's go!

Electronic - Beat Driven
Album Name:
Random Processed Memories
Album Description:
This album contains primarily electronica based tracks. The exceptions are one straight jazz track, a classical/score style piece, and one track that infuses a good deal of asian percussion with rock/electronica. The overall goal was to explore a number of different ideas, while still managing to help develop an encompassing 'sound' or 'style'. While 'Hop to It' and 'Transect' have a completely different sound from the reset of the album, they do fill the desire to explore different approaches to music composition. Please enjoy Random Processed Memories.

Band Bio:
Jim began performing music in 1982, when he became a brass player in the 4th grade. He wanted to play the sax like his older cousin, but having rather long arms, and fourth graders tending to be rather short, he was roped into playing trombone. 24 years later, Jim still plays in various brass groups, and local community concert and jazz bands, where he splits time between playing the bass trombone and the baritone.
Jim's love of music composition started in 1986 with the purchase of a used Commodore 64 with the amazing 3-voice FM synthesis SIDPlayer. His musical moniker of Solarno was born around the same time, though the exact origin of the name is lost to the annals of time.
When not playing or writing, or attending performances of fine music, Jim can be found riding a two-wheeled, non-electronic contraption some refer to as a bicycle, or selling said vehicles for the world's largest bicycle manufacturer.
Jim Furey and his roving band of electron infused microprocessors reside in Simi Valley, CA where the quest for the perfect sine wave continues.
Group Members & Instruments Played:
Me, myself, and I. Hardware used: my trusty iMac G5, M-Audio Keystation 49e, M-Audio Trigger Finger. Software used: Logic Express, GForce impOSCar and Minimonsta, iZotope Ozone 3, bits from all the Garageband JamPacks.
Lots of knob twirling and parameter adjusting for all of the soft-synths. While stock programmed sounds are fine to sketch out ideas, once a song starts to take shape, different characters start to evolve from the varying sounds.
