About

Description: " Antique Sixguns frontman Leif Solem writes strange, sweet, clever, sometimes sad little songs that he performs on a series of broken-down, improvised and slapdash instruments. Yet he's still able to coax out of these $3 guitars and unexpected contraptions melodies that are surprisingly catchy, to surround stories about lives that go in unexpected directions. I hate the term "quirky," but Solem is unquestionably in possession of an odd and quirky kind of genius. With a band behind him, the sound becomes fuller. the volume increases and the tempo tends to pick up, but the melodies and the lyrics remain front and center. Their namesake song remains one of my favorites. It's about guns!" --Jim Knipfel, New York Press, February 16, 2oo5

Band Bio: Leif Mulch is a pseudonym for Leif Solem, former Antique Sixguns frontman, former Saint Thomas choirboy, now gradually discorporating in America's Inland Empire, taking care of a dog named Walt Whitman. Walt needs to learn not to run into traffic.
Band Members & Instruments Played: Leif plays all the instruments on Leif Mulch recordings -- drums, bass, guitar, piano, viola, pennywhistle, wineglasses, and so on, tin can, &c, and messes them up beyond recognition using "garageband" and "audacity" and an old four-track and variable speed casette player. Also, he makes all the sound effects in the radio segments he calls "Scary Story". It's fun, and harmless. Mostly.
Band Location (city, state or province, and country): Spokanistan, Washington, U.S.A.

RPM 2008 demos, works-in-progress, or tracks-finished-early... a musical sketchbook. This is just a sampler -- complete and finished albums will be uploaded into the real jukebox in March!

This little songadong joins hundreds of others in the so far not very lucrative Leif Mulch oeuvre. It's about hoboes. A hobo, maintains the lyric, is always homeward bound.
